Bars in the plastics technology

Tough and wear-resistant tooling materials are used for the production of extruder screws and tips. In applications where toughness is paramount, the material ASP® 2005 has been tried and tested as a standard. The materials LC 200 N and CPM® 420V are used for corrosive attack.

You can get bars made of nickel-based alloys for particularly aggressive plastics. The Alloy 625 or HAYNES® 242® Alloy with diameters from 0.236 to 7.087 inch are suitable for this.

Use our powder metallurgical steels for mills and screens in plastics technology. The processing of plastics requires the use of wear-resistant and sometimes also corrosion-resistant tool steels. Powder metallurgical steel has these properties for precisely this application:

Pelletizers are used in the production of plastic granules. When processing plastics, particularly wear-resistant and sometimes also corrosion-resistant powder-metallurgical tool steels are suitable.
