Materials Tester
Your Tasks
Materials testers examine materials with regard to their properties (e.g., hardness, toughness) and their behavior under certain loads. They take material samples, prepare them, examine them microscopically and macroscopically, assess the material structure, and take pictures if necessary. When using “non-destructive testing methods,” which include X-ray and ultrasound tests as well as magnetic methods, they can recognize defects inside and on the surface of the material without destroying the workpiece during the test.
